“Argh!.” That quiet, restless frustration of doing the same thing over and over and over. I was tired of creating without growth, bored of heavy prints and noise. From that frustration came the fuck it! moment. And from that came: how do you create garments that are looked after, pieces that one day end up in vintage shops?

Our nieuw beginning starts with style essentials, coats, knits, jackets, and pants. The kind of pieces you build a wardrobe around. They’re meant to be second skins: soft, dependable, functional, and built to last—designs and fabrics that age with you, pieces that inherit your stains, scars, and strains. One piece leads to another, one story into the next and a world begins to form.

Most days start with nothing, a cup of tea at the table, and suddenly everything turns basa-basa: swatches everywhere, fabrics, textures, and colours. Nothing quite compares to the feel and smell of natural fibres - cotton, wool, cashmere, leather - mixed with the aroma of coffee, tea, and butter(I love butter biscuits).

Whatever we create, the aim is always the same: to produce something that feels considered, functional, and enduring. We’re at the beginning of our nieuw story, with the intent of building a legacy.
